Samantha (Sam) Portnoy, MA, LCSWA
I graduated from the University of New England with my master's in social work (MSW)
with a clinical concentration on Individuals, Groups, and Families. Since then, I have worked in
both the private and public sectors providing individual, group, and family mental health
services. I received my Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Associate (LCSW-A) in the state
of North Carolina. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and I am a certified Anxiety-
Informed Professional.
Let's talk about life. Life is a pendulum, swinging, changing direction and you may be wondering
how you can get back to center. Well, as humans we are relational beings, so a sense of
connection can help guide you to where and who you want to be. That's where I come in. Using
trust, humor, and unconditional positive regard. Together, we can explore what may be holding
you back from reaching your full potential and create an appreciation for yourself and your
abilities.
As a therapist and I specialize in working with teens, adults, and couples experiencing but not
limited to: trauma, complex trauma, grief, mood disorders, loss, divorce, adjustment issues,
self-esteem, weight stigma, and body image (Health at Every Size) communication and
behavioral challenges, stress and anxiety. I offer a safe, judgment-free space for you to start
your journey to center. My pronouns are she/her.
