Sandra Starr Therapist

Sandra Starr, MA, LCMHC, SCL

I graduated in 2015 from University of North Carolina-Charlotte with my Master’s
in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Certificate in Play Therapy. I am a
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor #11928, as well as a National Board
Certified Counselor #632488.

I use multiple theories when working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy,
and reality therapy. Each person responds to therapy differently, using multiple
theories helps me assist each client individually. I enjoy building a safe, trusting
relationship with my clients to help make the therapeutic experience a beneficial
one. I apply what I have learned through school and trainings, as well as my
experiences to help clients be successful socially and emotionally. I believe every
person needs someone who will advocate for their needs and have their best
interests at heart, and I look forward to being this person for my clients.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety,
depression, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, social skills, self-esteem, self-harm
behaviors, anger, stress management, parenting, family issues, and peer
relationships.
