I received my Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2012. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC #16584) in the state of North Carolina and a Nationally Certified Counselor (#292604). I have worked as a secondary school counselor for 10 years and have worked closely with parents and children as a program facilitator in the Strengthening Families Program for the past 6 years. I have experiences working with individuals dealing with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma, Self-Esteem, School Issues, Parent/Child Relationships as well as Adjustment Difficulties.
As a clinician, I counsel from a Person-Centered approach utilizing CBT, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy techniques. I assist clients in focusing on the present and supporting them as they work to make positive choices/changes that align with their goals. I help clients identify their needs and develop positive coping strategies to manage any barriers or challenges that arise. When working with young children, I utilize play therapy techniques to help each child express their emotions through play. No matter the age of the client, I provide a judgement free space where clients can safely be their authentic self and receive the support needed to achieve their goals.
